Photographer Kent Krugh is joined by Lloyd Library & Museum Archivist and Co-Curator Christine Jankowski for a conversation about Beyond the Gate, featuring Krugh’s series of multi-exposure photographs that explore the intersections of time, memory, and place through evocative portraits of trees. Krugh will discuss his creative process, the inspiration behind the work, and how the landscapes of the Lloyd Brothers' history, from the woods of Crittenden, Kentucky, to Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum, and Ithaca, New York, inform these layered images. This program will offer insights into his photographic techniques, artistic vision, and the themes of reflection, patience, and connection that run throughout the series.
Kent Krugh is a fine art photographer living and working in Cincinnati. His work has been featured in numerous national and international exhibitions and major festivals, including FotoFest (Houston) and Festival de la Luz (Buenos Aires). His work is held in various collections including the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Portland Art Museum, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and Northern Kentucky University.
Christine Jankowski is the archivist and records coordinator at the Lloyd Library & Museum co-curator The Lloyd’s FotoFocus exhibitions. She is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University (MA, Public History) and Cardinal Stritch University (BS, History).
