The Story of Tea: From Leaf to Cup

18Mar2026

From 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Tea is more than a beverage—it is a story shaped by history, craft, and human connection. In this presentation, we’ll explore the origins of tea in China and how centuries of processing techniques gave rise to the various tea types, each with its own flavor profile and uniqueness. We will also share practical guidance on how to brew different types of tea at home confidently. We’ll journey beyond China to see how tea cultures around the world developed distinct tea cultures and ceremonies, while sharing the same enduring values: hospitality, friendship, and community. Whether you’re new to tea or deepening your appreciation, this session offers a thoughtful introduction to the world behind every cup. The experience includes a guided tasting of two teas: one naturally caffeinated and one caffeine-free, perfect for curious beginners and tea lovers looking to slow down and sip mindfully. Presented by Angela Qu, the owner of Churchill's Fine Teas.
